ABOUT US
Mills of Sion is a British, 4-piece electro-acoustic covers band based in Gloucestershire.
"We first started playing together in 2015, with a shared love of good music and the desire to be rock stars! We play for fun and can't get enough of Stereophonics, Green Day, The Cranberries and loads of other amazing bands!"

I'm a guitar fanatic with far too many guitars (so I'm told!), too many amps, and generally too much music kit.

I dream of having my own music studio one day, where I will have space to spread it all out.

I grew up on Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Rory Gallagher and Jimi Hendrix.
Amongst my guitar heroes are Brian May, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi and David Gilmour.

In a nutshell - I love to sing!

I grew up literally surrounded by the sound of music - being one of seven children we were often likened to the Von Trapp family.
I enjoy most styles of music and have been in folk bands, on stage doing musical theatre and also sing in a vocal harmony group.

Secretly though I’ve always been a rock chick. You’re never too old to rock out, right?

Drums/cajon //

Music is one of my main passions having been brought up on late Beatles, glam rock, Thin Lizzy and Status Quo.
I've always had an interest in the groove and rhythm of all the music I've seen and listened to and was greatly influenced by the jazz drummer Buddy Rich as well as Brian Downey of Thin Lizzy from the late 70s.
Apart from drums, I also play cajon, washboard and all things percussion. I also enjoy playing guitar and ukelele.
I love playing live and take the view that if you think you're too old to rock, you probably are! Bring it on!!

Bass Guitar//
Kate Shore
I started playing bass in 2019 and quickly fell in love with it!
My bass heroes are John Entwistle, Duck Dunn, Carol Kaye and Herbie Flowers.
Musically my influences are rooted in the 60s and 70s: The Who above all, but also Americana and British folk-rock.
I joined Mills of Sion in summer 2022 and am loving it - nothing beats gigging when the band is tight and the crowd is loving the music and having a good time!
